Options!!!

Every day, we strap on shoes that match our outfits for work, or play.  As kids we (my sister & I)were put in whatever our Mom decided was acceptable and most of us at the age of 6 just went with it.  Anyone remember jelly shoes?  UGH!  Function before fashion; or the infamous statement made by a lot of parents-"I'm not spending money on something you will grow out of before you wear them out".  Now, independent, in our 20's & 30's we have options ladies!  LOTS AND LOTS of options. My sister started Sassy Shoes because, well, she's more shoe obsessed than anyone I know.  My collection doesn't come close to the number of pairs of shoes that she has collected over the years.  Some think it's ridiculous, to us, it's normal. Who doesn't have 75+ pairs of shoes?
I get up every day & think what do my feet feel like today?  Wedges?  Stilettos?  Flats?  Sneakers?  Boots? Sandals?  Flip flops (we are in Florida, duh!)?  [Flip flops are a staple down here.]  But, my go to for a night out is a shiny pair of 4-6 inch stilettos or wedges.  The shinier the better.  Why not? I start with the shoes because a simple black shirt and skinny jeans with a purple peacock embellished pump or a satin gladiator wedge make that basic outfit sassy or tough and always a little sexy.  Put on a pair of shorts with a basic tank and slip your foot into a strappy patent leather & satin 5" stiletto and lotion (or bronze) up those legs to make them look long and lean.  Or in the winter (a whopping 2 months worth of sort of cold), my FAVORITE thing to wear are furry boots.  Yes, they are my true obsession thanks to my bestie who bought me a pair a few years ago for Christmas and then my lovely sister who supports my 'habit' and has gotten me a couple of pairs.  I have them in almost every color, heel height, casual, dressy, tough, and my collection will continue to grow.  But, no matter who you are, what you do, or how you decide to get dressed for your day..you should start with the shoes.  They are the foundation and can change how you walk, how you feel, how you carry yourself and can make (or break) your whole ensemble.
This is my little blurb on a rainy Saturday and how I decide to build my outfits.  To each his own.  Happy Saturday everyone!
P.S.  I'll be back to share randomness again soon!  My sister has given me free reign--uhoh!  :)
